Dj Louca and Funkfoundation and the 02 DANCE CHART
Dj Louca and Funkfoundation have announced they are looking for
a new residency to run in conjunction with the O2 Dance Chart.
Yesterday, they announced to the label that they are looking to hold a
residency where they can promote the O2 Dance chart. They are going to be
responsible for compiling the O2 Dance chart which is said to be
broadcasted on Capital FM and published in Dj Mag.
The pair have become hard to ignore after their huge success with 'what is
funk' (Record of the week on Radio 1), released again only last week on
the Executive imprint associated with Dj Flex. The track has sold more
copies than most labels even hope of and has opened up a lot of
opportunity for the pair.
This is what Dj Louca had to say.....
...'we are very excited about everything at the moment. We have been
working hard in the studio this year on productions'.
'We have just recently completed formatting various track for the Ibiza
Summer Anthems column on O2s website, which is to feature tracks, artists
and remixes from ourselves (Dj Louca Vs Funkfoundation), Fatboy Slim,
Neruda, Stonebridge, Armand Van Helden, Dj Pierre, Byron Stingly, Terry
Hall, Hybrid, Derrick Carter, Ashley Beedle, Markus Nikolai, Boris
D'Lugosch, Dj Lucci, Gram'ma'funk, Kathy Brown, Ben & Lex etc the list
goes on. So as you can see we have been up to it in our neck with work.
Although we are busy we would not want it any other way'.
'We are now looking to find a new residency in the Uk to fit in with the
Launch of the O2 Dance chart which we might be broadcasting on Capital FM.
We have been Djing over in France quite a bit and a couple of years back I
worked for Manumission at Bar M and a few of those other dodgy clubs on
the white Isle! Nothing too serious though' (he says with a smile on his
face).'My other half (Funkfoundation) is over in Ibiza at the moment
working with Lucci but we are both looking forward to the future and hope
that the rest and next year is promising for us all!'.

This is what Christian Louca of Trusted Recordings and Trusted Media had
to say -
'This is a positive step for dance music, and slowly we will be
encouraging more activity on the other mobile phone networks. The O2 Dance
chart is an exciting opportunity which we could not resist. It has been a
difficult process in letting the labels be aware of what is going on, but
we are getting there'.
'For the future we are currently in talks with Peoplesound about providing
them with formatted upfront dance music. We are also going to be providing
material for Vodaphone Live 'I Love Music', which will be one of the
biggest campaigns yet!'.
World Mobile Content exhibition
The conference has been running for six years and this year there is a a
lot of focus on the music industry. Industry leaders from EMI, MTV, O2,
ELATA, SUPERSCAPE, JAMDAT, COREMEDIA, TRUSTED MEDIA, CUBE 80, BEEP SCIENCE
to name a few are due to be present.
Christian Louca of Trusted Recordings and Trusted Media will be attending
the world mobile content conference that is being held in London next
week.
'We will be there looking to talk with likeminded people and to see what
challenges they have faced.' he says.
'We will be keen to talk about the new Fatboy Slim album 'Palookaville'
which we are currently producing for the 02 Mobile network to feature as a
wap micro site. People will be able to download real tone format ringtones
and download audio/video files straight to there mobile. The content is
due to be available to 02 users before the release of the album, currently
scheduled for the 4th October.'.
It is ever clear now that the music industry and the digital market are
moving closer together now. With campaigns such as Vodaphone live 'I love
music' and the 02 Dance chart record labels are being offered to get their
artists and their material straight to the consumer through specific
designed wap and web sites. Artists such as Fatboy Slim, Armand Van
Helden, Dj Louca, FunkFoundation, Hybrid, Stonebridge, Neruda, Ben & Lex,
Derrick Carter, Jon Carter, Markus Nikolai, Underworld etc etc are getting
their content sold through either mobile content providers and their
existing channels or through media/music content provider and production
companies such as Trusted Media whom are linked with Trusted Recordings
and all mobile phone networks.
Finally Christian Louca commented,
'huge positive steps like the 02 Dance chart and Vodaphone live 'I love
music' is a great incentive for the music industry to embrace the wireless
digital market and work with companies that are willing to invest time and
effort into their material to deliver as content to market. The market
alone is said to grow some 35% in the Uk by 2006.'.
Trusted Media Ltd is a company that offers bespoke solutions to its
clients. They are a real tone specialist whilst also have channels to
work with monophonic and polyphonic formats. Their services range from
creating project based content to re-marketing existing platforms and
generating new, and re-strategizing existing, content.
All the content is produced in house which is over seen by its affiliate
company Trusted Recordings (Dance Record label). This then brings
industry studio engineers and producers from an international level and
some 15 years experience.
With its direct links to the music industry it is clear as to why so many
companies are seeking to use their service. They get up-to-date music
content from Record labels big and small without having to go through the
headache of even getting in contact with these companies in the first
place. On top of this they also can get project based content from

brief), so all can be achieved under one house.
