This is big news: we are compiling a round-up of the MOST RATED tunes of the year as decided by the biggest DJ's, the best labels and of course you the listeners.
Here's your chance to vote for your best dance track of 2004. All you have to do is log onto www.defected.com and follow the instructions on the pop up menu. Your vote will help to secure the final track selection. You can also add your comments on the Defected forum - check out Most Rated and Slated string in General Chat. Hurry, voting closes Sept 10th.

DJ Gregory In The House. Release date 30th Aug
We have confirmed DJ Gregory for the next in our 'In the House' series. The mix has the percussive flavours that you would expect from this world music inspired DJ and producer. The selection of music combines both songs and trax which can be uplifting one minute and tougher the next. Never a dull moment as you're always guessing what's coming next. Outstanding tracks are Donna Allen's gorgeous vocal on "Real" from ' 94 which still sounds like the classic it always was. Then there are Gregory's own superb productions from "Elle" to "Tropical Soundclash" proving that this DJ/ producer displays more talent and imagination than too many names to mention.

The Defected Ibiza experience is now in full swing. Defected In The House has firmly established itself as THE MUSIC LOVERS night out and has seen record numbers through the door. We have had some quality sets delivered by Junior Jack, Sandy Rivera, Martin Solveig, Brian Tappert, DJ Chus and the notorious Dimitri From Paris (who incidentally has played Ibiza for the first time in years as a special favour to Defected with Martin Solveig last week). Sandy Rivera album project changes name
Sandy Rivera is currently secretly working on his new album project that has been 2 years in the making and is now 'finally' finished. Defected records can disclose that the project was originally named 'Changes' as a working title but rumour has it will be 'changing' again to be more representative of Sandy's rascalish and cheeky character. The new project will be entitled ' Trouble'! Very apt.

New Mixes of Strings of Life
One of the best-known house tracks ever recorded has been re-interpreted by Soul Central. First released in 1987 and then re-released in 1992 now to be unleashed again on September 13 on Defected. This Soul Central and Danny Krivit re-interpretation has set dance floors on fire everywhere from Amsterdam to Ibiza. Check out the tougher re-mix by Mark Knight & Martijn Ten Velden, also check Cevin Fishers cool remix, plus the Latin rub from the Funkylowlives and a special re-work from Kenny Dope and more Danny Krivit edits to come.

Dubtribe Soundsystem - Nothing Is Impossible - Out 9th Aug
San Fran returns with another gem from Dubtribe's 'Baggage' album. This is the third release from the album that follows in the footsteps of 'Autosoul' and 'Do It Now'. Dennis Ferrer recreates then delivers with the inspired addition of members from Femi Kuti's band. Local San Fran talent DJ Dres takes it down to sub-zero with a deep, infectious groove.
